Title: The Great Land of Lankton
Medium: Oil on board
Completed: 2005
Size: 45cm x 100cm
This work was really a summary of all the monsters that my head was able to muster up for me at the time and I just wanted to create this triptych with all of them thrown in. I was also greatly influenced by Bosch’s Garden of earthly Delights painting as well but in a way, more importantly, the painting is also about love. It has me with one of my characters going on a quest of love and although going through a lot of pain whilst getting there, we both find it at the end. For me, this woman was to become my wife. The best thing that has happened to me, my savior.
