Title: My visit to Jupiter(after Adolf Schaller and Glenn Brown)
Medium: Oil on canvas
Completed: 2008
Size: 100cm x 149cm
This work in ways is one of my most outlandish pieces. It not only has surreal connotation but also it is the first work I have done which touches the idea of science-fiction art. It is first and foremost about a dream I had about seeing Jupiter’s wonderful cloud systems and also it is still based on the series of tornados dreams I have had as well. It’s not entirely original as artists before me have produced works based on the ideas of Jovian landscapes. Much touch is of course adding many tornados in the landscape where it is possible that Jupiter does indeed have storm systems. To give an idea of scale on the size of the landscape shown, from one end of the canvas to the other would be about 100 miles!
